Senator’s Gate opened up an architectural masterpiece of the 1800s for the ten of us. We marveled at the high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, massive moldings, and multiple fireplaces. Marble baths, large dining room, and a dream kitchen not only were beautiful but also functional. The wonderful house though may have spoiled us for anything less in the future.
Seafood seemed to be the order of every day. We had low country boil delivered to the house, crab cakes and soft shell crabs at Vic’s, fried oysters and deviled crab at crazy A-J’s, and crab BLTs and more fried oysters at Plum’s. Lucky Louise and Tina even managed to eat lunch at the coveted Colin’s Quarter.
